Brenneco Fire Protection arms its customers with the best services and team in fire protection. The following case studies illustrate how we have earned and keep our customers’ business.
Property Management Firm
Bloomington, Indiana
This property management firm in southern Indiana includes eight buildings, most being warehouse facilities and office spaces. In total, the property that Brenneco Fire Protection services is about 50,000 square feet.
Challenges: In December 2010, a simple leak on a sprinkler riser in a warehouse prompted a representative from the firm to contact its current service provider to repair the problem. The firm owner grew frustrated when two people arrived to handle what he considered to be a one-man job. To compound his frustration, it appeared that neither of the people knew how to resolve the issue. The owner then contacted a second service provider to take over the project. After working up a quote for the work, this second service provider informed the owner that his business was “shut down” over the holidays and would be unavailable to perform the work within the next two weeks. The owner called Brenneco Fire Protection.
Course of Action: One technician from Brenneco Fire protection performed the repair within the time frame requested by the client. We acted fast and put our client first, knowing that leaks don’t take holidays.
Results: Our timely and professional service relieved the owner’s frustrations and let him get back to business. Since that first job on December 30, 2010, we have been providing the property management firm with the best in fire protection services.
The Andersons Inc.
Delphi, Indiana
The Andersons, Inc. is a diversified company with interests in the grain, ethanol and plant nutrient sectors of U.S. agriculture, as well as in railcar leasing and repair, turf products production, and general merchandise retailing. Founded in Maumee, Ohio, in 1947, the company has operations across the United States, in Puerto Rico, and has rail equipment leasing interests in Canada and Mexico. Its Delphi operations include a grain storage and handling facility.
Challenges: The client had an electrical cabinet that contained all the electrical relays for its entire operation. The cabinet was protected by a non-code compliant suppression system. A fire inside the cabinet could shut down 100 percent of its operations for an extended period of time.
Course of Action: Brenneco designed and installed a high-pressure CO2 system to protect the electrical cabinet. Testing of the system was conducted after hours to avoid a potential shut-down during normal operations.
Results: The newly installed suppression system allows the owner to know their vital equipment is protected with a code-compliant suppression system.
German Chemical Manufacturer
Lafayette, Indiana
Based in Germany with a site in Indiana, this Brenneco Fire Protection client produces coatings for use in a wide array of industrial applications. The facility consists of several connected buildings as well as out buildings. Plant size exceeds 20,000 square feet.
Challenges: The company installed a new temperature- and humidity-controlled paint booth at its Lafayette plant. For Brenneco, the project’s challenges included a tight deadline and special hazards. The booth was the first of its kind in North America, so there was limited precedent for design and installation of the fire protection system. To complicate matters, it was manufactured in Germany and a limited amount of information was available during the suppression system design process from the manufacturer. Using solvent-based paint increased the risk of fire, presenting a special hazard. Once the booth arrived, it was installed in one week, leaving Brenneco and the other trade contractors another week to complete the project.
Course of Action: With limited information available upfront, and a condensed time frame, Brenneco Fire Protection designed and installed a high-pressure CO2 system to protect the interior of the paint booth. The existing sprinkler system was also revised to accommodate the installation of the booth and the related infrastructure.
Results: The timely installation of the high-pressure system enabled the client to meet the exacting quality requirements of its European customers.
Lebanon Public Library

Results: Brenneco Fire Protection was awarded the inspection and service contracts for the facility.

Zionsville, Indiana
Size: 61,000 sq. ft. and seating capacity of 800+
Challenges: Zionsville Fellowship grew increasingly frustrated with their service provider sending out inexperienced techs for each inspection cycle. This meant the ministry staff had to babysit and spend extra time showing the inexperienced tech around the facility. Zionsville Fellowship reached its breaking point after one of the inexperienced techs flooded two mechanical rooms and the kitchen.
Course of Action: Zionsville Fellowship contracted with Brenneco Fire Protection to take over the inspection and service contract for the facility.
Results: Brenneco has performed the annual inspection and completed service work several times. There has been no negative feedback from the staff of the church. Brenneco has advised the church of 5-Year Inspection Items that are due at the facility and these are going to be performed in the near future. Brenneco Fire Protection has become Zionsville Fellowship’s Fire Protection Advisor.
